This qualification provides essential knowledge and understanding of the responsibilities of alcohol retailers and will enable holders of this certificate to act within the law and support the licensed premises by protecting people and the businesses licence.
The ARAR is designed for anyone who works on licensed premises or is likely to be involved in the sale of alcohol including:
- Bar staff
- Waiters / Waitresses
- Supermarket check out staff
- Off license / shop sales staff
The qualification covers:
- Alcohol and its effect on the body
- 2003 Licensing Act
- Protection of children
- Social responsibilities
- Recognising drunk
- Your duty regarding drunk
- Strategies to prevent or eliminate alcohol related crime
- Conflict & personal safety
The course duration is less than 1 day. Teaching methods will include discussions & group exercises.
There is a 25 question multiple-choice examination at the end of the training.
